"I founded Compu-List/C-L Printing in 1971 and retired in 1991 to pursue my passion for music. After seven years I realized that I was not the next coming of Billy Joel. I got my California Real Estate License in 1998, and sold $30 million of deeded vacation property for Four Seasons, Starwood (Westin) and Marriott Corporation. I retired to Jaco Beach, Costa Rica in February 2009. I realized that the real estate market in the Jaco area was similar to that of Hawaii in 1965, and spent the next six months evaluating realtors in the area. In terms of integrity, knowledge of the market, reputation, involvement in the community and personality, I realized that broker Ken Schaafsma and his Oceanside Realty staff was where I wanted to be hanging my hat.
As I learned how to adapt to my new environment and culture in Jaco Costa Rica, I discovered how much I enjoyed assisting others to get their very own slice of paradise. From tourists wanting to learn more about Jaco Beach, to retirees (and near-retirees) wanting a cost-effective place to retire, I love to talk with people about Costa Rica and about the Jaco Beach area.
